Complicat Four Rivers Tutorial

Starting a new game : click on Game menu and scroll down. You will see a list of available layouts. Choose a layout by clicking it and you will start a game .
Learn to play CompliCat Four Rivers training step by step: start a new game(see above). After you started a game, click on Game menu, scroll down and click Training option and you start a training game. The computer helps you to match tiles . All you have to do is to click on pointed tiles.
Starting demo game : watch the computer playing by himself. The computer can play alone a game (with three different speeds) and you can watch and learn. Click on Game menu, scroll down to Demo option and select. A list of three different speeds appears. If you're a beginner choose the slowest speed (click on SLOW Demo option) and watch the computer playing. You may select any speed you want for the demo.
To restart game: Click on Game menu, scroll down and click Restart game option.
Get hint: Click on Get Hint option.The computer suggests the next movement if there is one, but you don't get any points for that movement.
Undo the last movement : you can cancel your last movement if you change your mind. The bonus points achieved with that movement are taken back. Just click Undo option from menu.
Changing difficulty level : there are three levels of difficulty: easy, medium and hard. The bonus points is higher as the difficulty level is growing. Also the penalty, if you mistake. Click on Options menu, scroll down to Difficulty Level and select. A list of three difficulty levels appears. Just click on the difficulty level you want to play. For the beginners it's better to play easy level, so you can be familiar with CompliCat Four Rivers rules.
Changing tileset : A tileset is a group of pictures (representing a theme) used to identify tiles. There are many tilesets included in your game (i.e. cats, flowers, animals etc.). You may select your favorite tileset for the game you're playing. Click Options menu, then scroll down to Tilesets and select. A list of available tilesets will appear. Choose one by clicking it and you have a new set of images for your game. You may change the set of pictures even during playing.
Changing background: you may choose the image behind tiles as you prefer. Click Options menu, scroll down to Background and select. A list of backgrounds is displayed. Click the one you want to see behind tiles. If you don't want a background image (just not to be distracted by it) you may click Blank option.
Turn On/Off the sound: you may turn off the sound if you don't want to be disturbed from playing. Go to Options menu and click it, than scroll to Sound and click it. Clicking again that option you can turn on the sound.
Modify tiles height: you can choose tiles height from a list of values as you prefer (taller or shorter). Go to Options menu, click it than scroll to Tiles Height option and click on it. Select the value you want from the list and click on OK button.
Change shadow color: change shadow color according to your preferences. If you use a dark background than you may need a light color for shadow. Go to Options menu, click on it and scroll down to Shadow Color and click it. Select the color you want for shadow and click OK button.
Clear all scores: erase all scores from Hall Of Fame. Go to Options menu, click on it and scroll down to Clear All Scores and click it. Use carefully this option only if you really want to erase all scores in the Hall Of Fame.
Hall Of Fame: displays the best ten scores gathered in CompliCat Four Rivers playing. To see it just go to Hall Of Fame and click on it.
Pause: you may choose to pause the game if you need. When you come back the time is stopped where you left it. Go to Pause and click on it. Clicking it again the time is passing again and you may play.

Help: starts help informations. Click on Help option.

You just have to succeed to eliminate all tiles in a very short time. There's a deadline, of course and if you succeed to eliminate all tiles before deadline, then you gain some bonus points.

Every time you make a mistake (if you're trying to select a blocked tile or two tiles which don't have the same picture) your score is diminished with a penalty. When you eliminate two tiles your score is raised with a bonus.

The bonus and the penalty depend on difficulty level you're playing (see below):

Every game has a time limit. Time limit depends on difficulty level too. When you succeed to finish all the tiles before time limit, you reward (bonus points) is evaluated like this: the number of seconds left multiplied by a bonus (see before).

First step in playing is to start a new game, of course. Click Game menu and you'll see a list of games tables sizes . Just click the game you want to play.

After you started the game playing Four Rivers is simple: you have to click tiles those are matching (with the same pictures) in pairs. Just click the first tile, than the second tile and so on. If two selected tiles are matching, they disappear. If a tile is already selected (its appearance is highlighted) and you change your mind you may unselect it clicking it again. You may select only tiles which have the same margin free.

Clicking a tile with right button many times the little image is resized (just if you are curious to see more details). The resized image disappears by clicking it with the left button.

If the two selected tiles are matching they disappear from the screen. You have to eliminate tiles until there's no one left on the table.

If you try to select two tiles those aren't matching, an error sound is played and your score is diminished with a penalty.

The goal of CompliCat Four Rivers is to achieve many bonus points. So you could figure in the Hall Of Fame.

To save a game go to the Game menu, scroll down and press the Save Game option. Choose a name for the game you want to save, type it and then click Save button. It's better to choose a significant name, so you can find it when you want to play your saved game.

To load a saved game go to the Game menu, scroll down to the Load Game option and press it. A list of your saved games will appear. Select your wanted game, then click Open button and you may continue playing from the point where you stopped when you saved the game.

Saving a game it's useful when you succeed to eliminate many tiles and you want to keep that game. If you saved the game before and you want to change your mind there's no need to restart game if you saved it. Just load your saved game and enjoy playing CompliCat Four Rivers . Also you can save a game if you need to interrupt the game (i.e. if you want to answer a phone etc.). Later when you come back playing you will be able to find the game where you saved it.
